‘Asandhimitta’ competed at a world renowned film festival
Asoka Handagama’s newest film ‘Asandhimitta’ was recently competed at one of the renowned international film festivals, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.
One of the ‘A’ Grade film festivals in the world, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is recognised by Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films (FIAPF). This year’s edition was held from November 11 to 27.
‘Asandhimitta’ had its World Premiere at the 23rd Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in October. Asandhimitta was nominated for “Kim Jiseok Award”, which is to remember and honor the late KIM Jiseok who passed away while attending Cannes Film Festival in 2017, after devoting his whole life to discovering Asian Directors and supporting the growth of Asian Cinema.
The film made based on a novella by Saman Wikramarachchi features Nilmini Sigera, Dharmapriya Dias, W. Jayairi, Shyam Fernando, Yashoda Wimaladharma, Rukmal Nirosh, Anula Bulathsinhala, Gayani Gisanthika, Sandali Handagama, Rithika Kodithuvakku, Widath Weerakon and Ahas Dissanayake.
Cinematography of the film is done by Channa Deshapriya. Edited by Ravindra Guruge, music composed by Kapila Poogalaarachchi, color graded by DininduJagoda, sound designed by Nisal Gangodage, ‘Asandhimitta’ is produced by H D Premasiri for Sarasavi Films.
