NCC record easy first innings win over Army SC

NCC recorded an easy first innings win over Army SC in a high scoring match of the Premier League cricket encounter concluded at the NCC grounds yesterday.
The final day’s play saw Army SC resuming from their overnight score of 199 for 5 being bowled out for 385. This was in reply to NCC’s mammoth score of 500 for 5 declared which came on the back of an unbeaten double ton made by Pathum Nissanka who had the honour of chalking up the first double ton of the tournament.
Apart from Nissanka’s double ton there were ten centuries scored in the matches that were played. Chathuranga de Silva (NCC), Rumesh Buddika (BRC), Milinda Siriwardena (Saracens SC), Ramesh Nimantha and Ruvindu Gunasekera both of SLPA CC. Dineth Thimodya (Ragama CC), Oshada Fernando (Chilaw Marians CC), Avishka Fernando (Clots CC) and Subramaniam Anand (Badureliya SC) hit centuries.
