J’Pura Uni offers workshop on materials characterisations
View(s):The Instrument Centre of the Sri Jayewardenepura University Applied Sciences Faculty is offering a two-day, hands-on workshop focused on materials characterisations.
The workshop will provide a working knowledge of each technique and how these methods are used to characterise material properties. Both general concepts and specific examples will be used to illustrate how these methods are employed to characterise the materials.
The workshop will be held on January 11th and 12th at the Instrument Centre, Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Instructions will be in Sinhala and English.
Participants will be able to gain practical knowledge of the measurement techniques, along with the tools to get the most out of their instrumentation, the University said.
By discussing common applications, the attendees will also learn how each testing technique can be used to differentiate materials and ultimately predict and optimise product performance. This practical workshop is geared for both experienced users who want to better understand measurement technologies, and those new to materials characterisations.
“If you are not yet currently using these characterisation techniques, this workshop will provide insight into how the instrumentation may complement your existing laboratory capabilities. Further, the interactive sessions will also be a great opportunity to meet and discuss your testing needs with our applications specialists,” the University said.
The registration fee includes lunch, refreshments and a certificate of participation. As seating is limited, early registration is recommended.
