Delay in filling 14 key vacancies cripples Nuwara Eliya MC
View(s):The delay in filling 14 key positions in the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council is crippling the council’s administrative activities, Mayor Chandana Lal Karunaratne said yesterday.

He said the important position of council secretary was still vacant.
In addition, vacancies exist for two administrative officers, an engineer, a Public Health Inspector, a garden administrator, Chief administrative officer of the Fire Brigade, a revenue administrative officer and several other senior positions.
Mayor Karunaratne said several appeals had been made to the authorities to fill the vacancies, but there had been no response.
