‘Pretty little butterflies’ of Jesmine Pre-school takes the stage
View(s):The 11th Annual Concert of Jesmine Pre-School, Aluthgama was held on the 17th November at Town Hall, Kalutara. It was themed as ‘Pretty Little Butterflies’ where the little students showcased their talents through songs, dances and music. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Piyal Nishantha and many other distinguished guests of the educational field. Mrs. Carol Guneratne the Principal who is a retired government English trained teacher with more than 40 years of experience, and the Vice Principal Mrs. Dhanushika Guneratne together with the staff of nine teachers and the parents were the pillows of the success of this well organized beautiful concert.
The Chief Guest and the other invitees were welcomed by the little fairies and the little Kandyan dancers of the school together with the Western and Eastern bands of the school. Making a change, the welcome speech was given in all three languages. The concert gave a platform for the young talent and the band shows of the Western and Eastern bands took a significant place.
Jesmine Pre-school was founded in 2008 with only eight students and now it has grown up to a group of students of 180. This pre-school is registered at the Pre-school Implementation Unit in Western Provincial Education Department. Jesmine Pre-school excels in providing the children with programs to enhance the child’s self esteem and every aspect like socially, physically and intellectually, the child will be nourished and energized here by events like Annual trips, kiddies fair, Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival, Vesak celebrations, Poson Aaloka Pooja and Annual Sports meet.
