fynd.lk to bridge the services sector gap
While there is high demand for people in the services sector in Sri Lanka, a new online platform fynd.lk has been launched for people to obtain services or to make a booking through a mobile device with the touch of a button.
Two young Sri Lankans came up with the online platform with the aim of providing the kind of service requirement the Sri Lankan consumers look for through mobile devices. The launch was held last Sunday at the Ramada Hotel in Colombo. fynd.lk app is available on android phones and there is also a website.
CEO of the company Nulaim Nuwaiz told the Business Times that it’s a platform where people can look for any kind of services they want. “We want to fill the gap in the services sector. We want to equip Sri Lankans with tools of entrepreneurship and human resources without creating a monopoly or being branded as a service providing company.” 15 per cent of Sri Lankans are self-employed, 20 per cent are flexible working employees and 25 per cent are service sector workers, he added.
Through the fynd.lk online platform a customer who is looking to use a service can compare the prices, review and rate to get the best deal. The customer can also negotiate the price via a chat, request a quotation and place a booking for a service.
A professional who has the service skill can set up flexible working hours and allow the platform to manage the booking schedule. He or she can also serve multiple service companies and also sell multiple services.
Any service company that hires professionals to sell services can manage customer bookings, the workforce and jobs assignment through the app.
The service categories includes arts and crafts, automobile, business and writing, cleaning, construction, events and catering, healthcare, personal grooming, renting services, sports and fitness and transportation. Every three months there will be a new feature introduced on the platform.
