Island-wide Schools Essay, Drama, Commercial Advert competition for World Water Day 2019
View(s):An Island-wide Schools Essay, Short Drama and a Commercial Advert competition to commemorate World Water Day 2019 is being conducted by the National Water Supply & Drainage Board, with February 8 being the deadline for submissions.
The Essay competition in Sinhala, Tamil and English, will be in 2 divisions with Grades 1-8 falling under the Junior Division, while students in Grade 9 and above in the Senior Division. Essays should be restricted to 350 words.
The Short Drama competition is for students of Grade 8 and above, and in the Sinhala medium only. A cast should not exceed 10 students and the duration of the Drama should not exceed 5 minutes. The script should be sent before February 8.
Submissions for the Commercial Advert competition should be designed to fit an A4 sheet, and may be computer assisted or manual, in black and white or in colour.
Winner of the Short Drama will receive Rs. 30,000, while the 2nd and 3rd places will receive Rs 25,000 and Rs, 20,000 respectively.
Winners of the Essay and Commercial Advert competitions will receive Rs 10,000 each, while the 2nd and 3rd places will receive Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 each respectively.
Experts in the field will judge the competition and their decision will be final.
