Young Entrepreneur Society (YES) is a student society, established on 20th February 2018 with the initiative and the guidance of Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake,Senior Professor of Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya with an aim to enhance the knowledge & exposure to the corporate world and start ups among students which will help the students to develop their leadership skills and business skills while producing a set of motivated and talented young entrepreneurs from Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya in future.
Currently the society is consisting of 60 members of faculty of engineering, University of Peradeniya and it will be opened for the other faculties of the University of Peradeniya as well in near future. In the journey of achieving their aim, the orientation programme with a talk on “Green Innovation & Entrepreneurship” by a renowned entrepreneur, Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake, the chairman of Green Building Council of Sri Lanka and LEGO/ICB/ Lanka AAC was held on 17th of May 2018 at the E.O.E Pereira theatre in a successful manner with more than 200 participants.
Also many inspiring talks, panel discussions and workshops by renowned entrepreneurs from all over the country and competitions will be organised in future by YES to enhance the knowledge of its members as well as to help them to make their start up dream a true.
