‘Thitta Kahata’ goes to Kerala
“Thiththa Kahata” (Bitter Nectar) produced by Janakaraliya Theatre of the people’s team, has been selected for the for the 11th International Theatre Festival of Kerala, India.
This festival will be held from January 20 to 26 and “Thiththa Kahata” will be performed on 20th as the curtain raiser of the festival and another repeated performance of the play has been scheduled for 21st .
The play was created by Janakaraliya Drama Group under the supervision of Parakrama Niriella. Made based on a hitherto untold and forgotten story of the upcountry plantation workers brought to Ceylon from South India, the play features Rasaiya Lohanathan, Sumudu Mallawarachchi, Sevaraj Leelawathie, Ajantha Shanthakumar, Sarath Banagala, Arosha Tharangani, Devran Sri Livera, Inoka Lankapura, Ruvini Dilanthi, Praneeth Jeevantha, Vijith Hettige, Palitha Abeylal, Amila Dinesh Kumara Thilini Nimesha and Madeera Udishani both in the cast and the crew.
