Celebrate Freedom Day in true Sri Lankan style
View(s):Sri Lanka celebrates its 71st Independence Day tomorrow (February 4). The Mother Sri Lanka movement (MSL) believes Independence Day is the most appropriate day for all Sri Lankans to celebrate the “pride of being Sri Lankan” as one nation. The movement invites all Sri Lankans to join together and celebrate being Sri Lankan. It is an opportunity for all of us living in this beautiful country to put aside all differences and appreciate the positive values of the Sri Lankan people, a press release from the organization said.
The first “Love Sri Lanka Street Festival” endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism and held last year to celebrate the 70th Independence Day was a great success. It’s on again this weekend at the Viharamahadevi Park.
