The fitness class will be at 220, High Level Road, Waththegedara, 10280 Maharagama. It is a normal Zumba class but with a Valentine’s Day twist; the dress code is red and white sportswear. This is the perfect date for fitness lovers or for people looking to get a little bit more active this Valentine’s Day.

Become a donor
Spend your Valentine’s Day helping others who desperately need it. The annual blood donation campaign organised by Excursion Students’ Association, will be held on February 14 from 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., at No. 19/4 Nawala Road, Nugegoda, under the patronage of Excursion College International chairman PujithaWijesinghe. Donors will receive a certificate for their contribution.
Stand up for a cause
One Billion Rising committed to ending violence against women is in its 7th year. Show your support by attending the event at Independence Square, Colombo on February 14. It will kick off with a bicycle and Double Decker Bus parade at 3.30 p.m. followed by a festival of dance, music, street theatre and poetry at 4.30 p.m.
Make it a special day for others too
“From our hearts to their hearts” is a community service project organised by the Rotaract Club of Excellence to celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Cancer Hospital and CCC House Maharagama. CCC House is a 188 bed transit home for child cancer outpatients and their carers. There will be an event held from 2.30p.m. to 5.30 p.m.with a sing-a-long, fun activities for the children and interactive sessions and refreshments. The CCC House is located at 171/A Daham Mawatha, Maharagama.
Community-building
The Leo Club of Colombo City presents ‘Make a Moment’ on Valentine’s Day with the aim of improving community relationships. There will be fun activities such as a photo-booth and a mehendi stall, as well as backdrops to take pictures, at Viharamahadevi Park from 8 a.m. onwards.
Remembering those who are missing
Valentine’s Day is not just about celebrating those who we love who are still here but also remembering those who may not be with us. This year join the ‘Families of the Disappeared’ as they keep ‘Missing Lovers Day’ remembering loved ones who have disappeared–from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Colombo Dutch Hospital.
Open Mic at BC
Show your partner how much you love him/her at the Open Mic night at the British Council library on the 14th from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Members walk in free while others should register online and visit Customer Services to confirm their seat by paying Rs. 500. All those who participate should be 18 years of age or older. Refreshments will also be provided.

Forget finding your soulmate, find your book mate instead at the Read Dating session at the British Council on the 14th from 7 p.m to 7.30 p.m. Bond over your favourite characters and hear some new takes on some classics.
