A dream come true for young Renaldi Dias
With a dream of holding the Cricket World Cup one day as a member of the Sri Lanka Cricket team, young Sri Lankan Renaldi Dias stands beside the ICC World Cup when it arrived in Australia on its tour around the world.
Renaldi Dias who plays for the Moorabbin Cricket Club, is under the wing of Presley Polonnowita, founder, CEO-Head Coach of Desert Cubs Cricket Academy, Dubai. He joined the academy at age 6. He rose to captain the Under-17 team that toured Sri Lanka and was adjudged Player of the Tour. The award was presented to Dias by former National cricketer Sidath Wettimuny who was the Chief Guest, along with Muthiah Muralitharan, the world highest wicket taker, who was the Guest of Honour. The presentation took place at a gala dinner held at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo.
Youngster Dias left for Australia to join Deakin University, and graduated in Commerce.
