Linen the star of ‘Everyday Beautiful’at CC
“Earthy yet luxurious. Casual yet formal,” is how Indian designer Kaveri defines her linen collection Spring ’19 unveiled at the Cotton Collection (CC) flagship store in Colombo on February 9.
Spring ’19 comprises versatile dresses, pants and tops which reflect blushed shades of pastels and powdered hues of soft pink, beige and off-white paired with sparkly touches, handmade embroidery and crochet lace.
Based in Chennai, South India, Kaveri comes from a family in the textile industry and has always loved working with linen. “The fabric we use is hand woven in India from yarn imported from France and Belgium. It’s the best fabric for tropical climate, cooler than cotton and gets softer with every wash,” Kaveri said at the collection preview. She also believes that “every woman anywhere is everyday beautiful” which she made into her collection’s tag line ‘Everyday Beautiful’.
“Her fashion creations are very thematic and fit well with our theme of cotton at Cotton Collection,” said Anjali Perera, Head of Merchandise, Cotton Collection.
