Ruveena to head SLAAPS; Asia Pacific parley to be held here in 2020

The 41st annual general meeting of the Sri Lanka Association of Administrative & Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS) was held recently at the Mandarina Hotel in Colombo 3. The AGM was told that the SLAAPS would host the 25th Congress of the Association of Secretaries & Admin Professionals in Asia Pacific (ASA) next year, twenty years after the SLAAPS hosted the 14th Congress.
ASA was founded in 1974 in Manila by Virginia P. Elbinias, the then incumbent President of the Philippine Association of Secretaries.
At the AGM, Ruveena Cader of the Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited was elected as President of SLAAPS and ASA for 2019/20. The following officials were also elected:
Chairperson/vice President: Azra Reyaldeen, Secretary to the Ministry of Telecommunication, Foreign Affairs & Sports.
Vice presidents: Gayanee de Alwis of Ocean Edge Suites Colombo and Sandra Thomasz of Monarch Commercials (Pvt) Ltd.
Secretary: Anusha Fernando of CBL Food International Ltd.
Treasurer: Shamila Kalupahana of Seylan Bank.
Asst. Secretary: Mayani Priyanka of National Savings Bank.
Asst. Treasurer: Ruchira Yapa Abeywardena of China CAMC Engineering Company.
Committee members: Delanie Jayesuria, Rukshani Fernando, Chandima Fernando, Suchintha Liyanage, Neranjala Gunathilake, Renuka Perera, Nilanthi Perera Palihawadana, Shireen Rajee and Niroshi Abeydeera.
