CCC School of Cricket shows their supremacy once again
View(s):CCC School of Cricket once again showed their supremacy in junior cricket, when their tiny tots, the Under Nine cricket team did excellently well to win the inaugural Under Nine Inter Academy Cricket Tournament, organized by the Premier Cricket Foundation, Colombo recently.
CCC Juniors emerged champions on an unbeaten note defeating Brendon Kuruppu CA, Nondescript School of Cricket, SA Cricket Academy, Moratuwa and SSC School of Cricket in the preliminary round. In the semi finals, CCC beat NCC School of Cricket and got the better of the host team in the finals to be the worthy undefeted champions.
It was an allround effort with skipper Tharun Ariyaratne leading from the front. He did exceptionally well as an allrounder to win the award for the Best Batsman of the tournament. Jahan Pathirana another talented allrounder was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
Thanula Mindada who took 13 wickets in the tournament, unfortunately missed the Best Bowler’s award by one single wicket.
The champions CCC School of Cricket was well guided, coached and inspired by Rangika Fernando former Sri Lanka women’s player.
The champion team was represented by: Tharun Ariyaratne (Capt.), Thesika Goonetilleke (V. Capt.), Jahan Pathirana, Tharun Munaweera, Thanuk Mindaka, Methuka Galapitage, Nesandu Adambarage, Sinura Edirisinghe, Aiden Amaraweera, Dillow Ranaraj, Biddhija Atapattu, Vohara Kumanayake, Senuja Wanninayake, Niven Mendis, Uditha Navaratne.
