Pegasus House clinches overall title
Pegasus House clinched the Mariyam Iqbal Challenge Trophy at the 33rd annual Inter-House Swimming Meet of Wycherley International School, which was held on February 8 at the Royal College Swimming Complex.
Champions Pegasus House produced six age group champions as their swimmers Kavindra Nugawela and Eemaan Reza Rafiq emerged winners in the Open Boy’s and Girls’ categories respectively. Amaani Mohamed Ali of Athena House shared honours as joint winner in the Open Girls’ category along with Eemaan of Pegasus.
The Under-16 age group championship was shared by three swimmers — Amjad Hassan of Athena House, Priyamwatha Ravindran of Pegasus House and Minma Hennadige of Triton House. Pegasus House’s Zacky Bashir and Dhivyapriya Ravindran shared the Under-14 age group honours along with Hawra Hassan of Triton House.
Athena House made a clean sweep of the Under-12 age category after their swimmers Flavion Fernando and Joana Perera won the championships for boys and girls respectively. The Under-10 age category had four winners, two each from boys and girls. Praveen Kaluarachchi of Apollo House and Yenul de Silva of Pegasus House came on top among boys while Adria Fernando of Athena House and Sunili Wijeratne of Triton House were the best among girls.
It was an event filled with participants, parents and well-wishers as all four Houses — Apollo, Athena, Pegasus and Triton participated in the true spirit of comradeship.
