Chathuranga, Dilesh guide NCC to semi finals
Left-arm pace and spin combination of Chathuranga de Silva and Dilesh Gunaratne guided defending champions NCC to the semi-final of the Premier T20 inter-club cricket tournament.
The pair shared six wickets between them and succeeded in restricting Tamil Union who were in pursuit of 185 run target, to a total of 139. This was in spite of Lahiru Milantha making a sterling knock of 61.
In the other three quarter final matches that were played saw Army SC coasted to an easy 51 run win over Chilaw Marians CC at NCC while Moors got the better of giant killers Galle CC by four wickets at the Colts grounds. The match between Ragama CC and CCC played at the NCC ground ended in tie with both teams scoring 160 runs. CCC qualified after being successful in the Super Over decider.
