‘Hundred Years at Mount’: CD back for Battle of The Blues 140
View(s):The landmark CD produced last year to celebrate Thomian life at S. Thomas’ College; Mount Lavinia has been reissued again due to great demand.
‘The first consignment of CDs sold like hot cakes last year, but many Thomians , especially old boys and expats, who missed out on this production comprising great and nostalgic schoolboy memories can now obtain at the Royal Thomian match 140 or the Thomian office during school hours’ said Priya Peiris, the musician behind the ‘Hundred Years at Mount’ project.
All songs in the CD are sung by a galaxy of reputed Thomian stars in the country. The theme song ‘A Hundred Years at Mount’ is vocalised by the classy De Lanerolle Brothers, Rohan and Ishan together with the talented twins Eranjan and Viranjan Perera. Other songs include ‘ Those good old days at Mount’, ‘We are the STC’, ‘The nine run match’, ‘Image of the College’, ‘My shoes keep walking back to STC’, ‘I love my School’, ‘I love my country’, ‘Your kind and loving ways’, ‘ I am happy go lucky old boy of STC’, ‘The school by the sea’, ‘From Mutwal to Mount’ and many more. The College Song sung by a group of former choristers is also included.
Dr. Vijaya Corea , Jayantha de Silva (Pearl), Sohan Weerasinghe (X’ Periments ), Arun Dias Bandaranayaka, Brian Fernando, Lasla Fernando (La Bambas fame ) Nishan Mendis, Hiran Fernando, Eshantha Peiris, Chandana Gurusinghe are amongst the other old Thomian singers featured in this all Thomian effort .
This project is the brainchild of musician Priya Peiris of La Bambas and ‘COCK’A’DOODLE’DO’ fame and has the blessings of the Warden Rev. Marc Billimoria.
