Pakistan Blind Cricket Team visits its local HC
View(s):Pakistan’s Blind Cricket Team, currently in Sri Lanka for a Series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches with their Sri Lankan counterparts, visited the Pakistan High Commission in Colombo on February 26.
Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan, Janbaz Khan congratulated the team for winning all their ODI matches against Sri Lanka. He expressed the hope that the team will perform well in the forthcoming T20 matches.
He said that Blind Cricket helps the Blind community and individuals to gain confidence, adding that sports activities in Pakistan are moving from strength to strength, with more training facilities.
He also briefed the Blind Cricket team on Pakistan-Sri Lanka ties, which both countries are enjoying since the inception of diplomatic relations.
Pakistan Blind Cricket team has reached the final of all 5 editions of the Blind ODI Cricket World Cup in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2014 and 2018, while winning 2 consecutive World Cups in 2002 and 2006. The team was runners-up in both editions of T-20 World Cup Cricket of the Blind in 2012 and 2017.
