KDU Alumnus win two Gold Medals at the MD Surgery Selection Examination – 2019
View(s):Captain (Dr) JHPWB Jayamaha topped the batch in the first attempt at recent MD Surgery selection examination winning two Gold Medals: Dr P. R. Anthonis Gold Medal for Basic Sciences in Surgery and Professor P. S. S. Panditharathne Gold Medal for Anatomy, for his outstanding performance.
He is a proud product of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Univesity and graduated with an MBBS Degree becoming First in order of merit with First Classes at the Second MBBS, the Third MBBS and the Final MBBS examinations. During his studies at the University he showed an outstanding performance in the acquisition of wider knowledge of the field of medicine. His commitment and dedication shown on his studies made him win many accolades. He was awarded thirteen Gold Medals at the General Convocation of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in 2016.
He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 2016 and promoted to the rank of Captain in 2018. Presently, he is serving as a Medical Officer at Army Base Hospital, Kilinochchi.
