LPU becomes Sri Lankan student’s most preferred education destination in North India

Lovely Professional University, also known as LPU is the largest single campus university in India, with more than 30000 students, over 4000 faculty and staff, offering more than 200 programmes. The university campus exhibits rich diversity as the academic staff and students come from all 29 states of India and more than 50 countries of the world including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Russia, China ,Africa and more.

Lovely professional University is recognized by the University Grant Commission ( UGC) Sri Lanka and is member of Association of Commonwealth Universities and International Association of Universities offering world recognized Diploma, Under Graduate , Masters and PHD programmes which creates the platform for its students to be recognized across the globe.
LPU offers its students a world class infrastructure including smart class rooms, laboratories, state-of – art nine story library and Mac, SAP and Google labs. LPU owns one of the largest hostel facility in the world with 24,000 students residing in the campus hostels. Campus is secured with 3500 CCTV cameras and around the clock security, assuring a very safe environment for the students.
University Management System ( UMS) of the university give the opportunity for the students, parents and faculty members to get the details of student’s examination results, attendance, exam schedules, payment status and assignment marks , by log in from anywhere in the world.
LPU works under the guidance of the Ministry of Higher Education, Sri Lanka and works closely with Sri Lanka Institute of Textile & Apparel ( SLITA) and the University of Sri Jayawardenapura. At the same time in discussion with the University of Colombo and Open University of Sri Lanka to strengthen the long term relationship they have with Sri Lanka.
LPU has produced over 125 Sri Lankan graduates and become home for more than 120 Sri Lankan students presently following different programmes from Diploma to Masters in different study areas.
They excel not only in academics but in sports, Traditional Dance, Music and various extra-curricular activities making Sri Lanka proud in the campus.
Sri Lankan students celebrate Sinhala-Tamil New year, Vesak Festival and various other traditional festivities which is adored by the Indian students and all the other nationalities in the campus.

This celebration of diversity indeed helps students in strengthening bonds of unity in diversity and also I’m imbibing global understanding.” Talking about Sri Lankan students, Mr. Mittal continued; “I’m happy to receive Sri Lankan students at LPU campus. Our university is contributing in furthering the cause of higher education of Sri Lankan students by taking many required steps. I anticipate that LPU and Ministry of Higher Education Sri Lanka will have strong understanding in future too”
Admission for academic year 2019 commenced with up to 50% scholarships on tuition fee for all the Sri Lankan students offered based on their O/L and A/L results. Students register early gets more benefits apart from the scholarship on tuition fee till the 30th April 2019.
