The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) will power the 28th Interact District Conference (IDC) as their Official Educational Partner.
ICASL as the national body of accountants, is also one of the country’s largest and leading tertiary education providers.
ICASL President Jagath Perera said the globally recognised qualification offered by the institute is structured in a manner to not only produce technically competent chartered accountants, but ones who also possess the necessary skills to give leadership across the corporate sector in the country.
“Our chartered accountants are no longer limited to the traditional number crunching roles. They are today business leaders. At least 35% of our members are Presidents, Partners, Chairmen, Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers, General Managers, Chief Financial Officers, among other high profile designations,” he said.
ICASL members are also internationally mobile, with a significant percentage serving across 42 countries, including Australia and the Pacific, Asia and the Middle East, Africa, Europe and America.
Mr. Perera stressed that, apart from the institute’s benchmark qualification in chartered accounting, ICASL also offers various other programmes including a BSc. Degree in Applied Accounting, which has been approved by the University Grants Commission, a Master’s Degree from the University of Southern Queensland and several executive diplomas and postgraduate diplomas, all of which aim to create a fully-fledged professional who is well versed in his/her respective fields.
