Aatiqah Jayah heads CIMA Students’ Society (CIMASS) in CIMA’s Centenary Year
View(s):CIMASS held its 25th Annual General Meeting to appoint its office bearers for 2019 recently. Aatiqah Jayah was instated as the President, Shehan Senanayake as the Vice President along with Shahid Nazeer as the Assistant Vice President. Mahesha Amarasuriya, FCMA, CGMA, 2018 Chairperson of the CIMA Sri Lanka Country Network Panel and the Head of Private Banking, Cards and Electronic Payments of Cargills, was the Chief Guest at the meeting. In her address, Mahesha commended the committee for the impressive work carried out in the preceding year. She also gave some enriching professional advice on the importance of ambition, values and most of all, having a mentor at the start of your professional career.
CIMASS conducts a multitude of events which aims to educate and develop students’
skills, as well as giving them a chance to network. The society is comprised of both students and exam completes, who balance their professional careers whilst organising events that give CIMA students the opportunity to share their thought-process and showcase their talents in the spheres of entrepreneurship, sport, knowledge and philanthropy.
