Past Prefects’ Association of Negombo Zone stimulates Thillanduwa Prefects
View(s):With an invitation of the Principal, Mrs. M. P. Shiromi C. Peiris, the Past Prefects’ Association of Negombo Zone, led by Mr. J. B. Prasanna Perera, conducted a one-day Leadership Camp in the school premises for newly appointed 22 prefects on Saturday, 16th March.
Mr. Sanjeewa Thissera, Mr. Suhash Fernando, Mr. Shirmith Nilantha of St. Mary’s College and Mr. Saman Fernando and Mr. Irantha Rukmal of Loyola College and Dhammissara MV respectively conducted activity-based seminars which were more practicable than mere lectures.
Mr. Shashika Ishan of St. Joseph’s KV, Mr. Hasitha Jayaruwan of Pitipana MV, Mr. Vinol Fernando and Mr. Lalan Christus of St. Mary’s College conducted heartfelt games to stimulate prefects how to act as leaders in the school. They not only enjoyed and engaged in games enthusiastically but learnt how to act to proceed towards the victory with their team.
The Principal acclaimed that it was a tremendous experience that their children received. The Teacher-in-Charge, Mr. Pubudu Nonis, said the camp would change the life patterns and attitudes of their children.
Although the children entered the school premises with empty hands, they left the school with handful of gifts presented by the Team.
