Ed Sheeran invests in the property market
Ed Sheeran is turning out to be a shrewd businessman as he is investing his income from his music according to reports. The singer, who claimed he slept rough near Buckingham Palace between 2008 and 2010, has invested in the property market to the tune of £42 million. The 28 year old singer songwriter is now the owner of 18 flats in London and Suffolk in the areas of Shoreditch, Hammersmith, Holland Park and Chiswick and a restaurant in Notting Hill. Most tenants may not even be aware that Sheeran is their landlord.
Sir Mick Jagger planning a comeback to resume tour
The Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger is planning to be fit within six weeks after he encountered a mysterious illness last week. The Rolling Stones had to apply brakes on the upcoming tour of the US and Canada which was run for 17 days from April 20. Sir Mick aged 75 and rest of the band were in Florida when news of the tour postponement was made public on April 30.
John Legend to produce music centric reality show
John Legend is to produce a music based reality show. He is said to be teaming up with Legacy Productions to produce Love At First Song. It will be similar to the format of a show first staged in Vietnam. Meanwhile Legend paid a tribute to rapper Nipsey Hussle who was shot dead on 31st March in Los Angeles, days after making a video for a new song with the rapper.
Avicii’s family set up foundation
The family of the popular DJ, artist and producer Avicii has set up a mental health awareness foundation. It has been named after Avicii’s real name – The Tim Bergling Foundation which will focus on people and organisations working in the field of mental health and suicide prevention. Avicii took his own life a year ago while on a holiday in Oman.
Steel Banglez debuts as the highest new entry on UK chart
British hip hop and grime artist Steel Banglez debuted as the highest new entry on the UK singles chart at No: 7 with song ‘Fashion Week’. On this breakthrough rap hit, Steel Banglez is joined by rappers A.J Tracey and MoStack. ‘Fashion Week’ is a standalone single.
Pink enters the UK charts following BRIT awards performance
Five weeks ago a few days after Pink performed at the BRIT awards her new single ‘Walk Me Home’ debuted on the top 10 at No: 9. But a week after the buzz of the award show faded the song lost ground and slipped on the numbers. Two weeks after being dormant at 12, ‘Walk Me Home’ is back on the UK top 10 at 9 on the strength of the video release. The song is the lead single from Pink’s next album ‘Hurts 2B Human’ which is due for release on 26th April.
Lewis Capaldi retains No 1 slot on the UK charts
Lewis Capaldi recently performed his chart topping song ‘Someone You Loved’ on the Jonathan Ross Show. That added to the popularity of the song to help it retain its stranglehold on the UK singles chart for a fifth week. It had a lead of 7.8 million streams over it rival ‘Giant’ at No: 2 by fellow Scottish artist Calvin Harris & Rag ‘N’ Bone Man.
