Kishan, Shalin, Kalana steer S. Thomas’ to second final
Half tons by Kishan Munasinghe and Shalin de Mel and a four-wicket haul by Kalana Perera helped S. Thomas’ record a comfortable 57-run win over Thurstan in the semi-final encounter of the Singer Under-19 Division I Inter-Schools Limited Over Tournament played at Reid Avenue yesterday.
Kishan and Shalin’s knocks enabled S. Thomas’, taking first lease of the wicket, to make a formidable score of 250 runs. Later left-arm pacie Kalana’s four scalps and a little bit of support by Dellon Peiris helped the Thomians restrict Thurstan to a score of 193 runs.
The Thomians are qualifying to their second successive final having booked the final berth in the two day tournament with a win against Nalanda. S. Thomas’ will now meet Richmond in the final who overcame Prince of Wales in the first semi-final.
