Sooriyabandara guides Royal to final
Royal College Colombo advanced to the final of the Singer Schools Under-19 Division II two day tournament with a convincing first innings win against Kalutara Vidyalaya in the semi-final encounter concluded at the Army grounds in Dombagoda yesterday.
Pasindu Sooriyabandara was the star of the Royal’s win as he made a knock of 150 after remaining unbeaten on 146 on day one. Sooriyabandara’s knock along with half tons by Kamil Mishara, Isiwara Dissanayake, skipper Kavindu Madarasinghe and Kavindu Pathiratne helped Royal batting first to amass a mammoth score of 514 runs. Kalutara MV in their turn, succumbed to Kamil Mishara and Manula Perera who together shared eight wickets between them for a low score of 95 runs. Royal having emerged champions of the Limited Over tournament last week will be seeking for a double.
