Sri Lanka Insurance Suba Pathum Scholarship 2019 seeks applicants
View(s):Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) is calling for applications for ‘Suba Pathum – National Scholarship Scheme 2019’ which rewards 300 achievers who excel in the Grade 5 Scholarship, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinations in 2018.
The annual initiative is being launched for the 5th consecutive time to inspire the younger generation to realise their future dreams. Since 2014 SLIC has rewarded over 1200 scholarships which are worth over Rs. 50 million to children across the country, the company said in a statement.
The scholarship scheme is now open to applicants who excel in the 2018 national examinations in Sri Lanka. Applications can be collected from the nearest SLIC branch or they can apply via SLIC official website www.srilankainsurance.com.
SLIC said duly filled applications need to be sent to the SLIC Suba Pathum – National Scholarship Scheme, P.O. Box 1337, No 21, Vauxhall Street, Colombo 2 via registered post before May 31, 2019. The Sri Lanka Insurance hotline 011 2 357 357 will be open for the applicants to get more details.
From the received applications top 100 rankers from each examination will qualify for scholarships which in total will be 300 scholarships for Grade 5 Scholarship, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinations. For Grade 5 Scholarship and GCE Ordinary Level qualifiers will be selected based on the district achievement and for GCE Advanced Level applicants, selections will be based on the national level achievement.
Financial scholarships of Rs. 20,000, Rs.40,000 and Rs. 50,000 will be awarded to the students who qualify for the scholarship from Grade 5 Scholarship, GCE Ordinary Level and GCE Advanced Level examinations, respectively.
This scheme is open to all the children in Sri Lanka irrespective of whether or not he/she is a child of a SLIC Life policyholder. However if scholarship holder’s parent is a SLIC Life policyholder, the scholarship benefit will be extended for future years. All selections will be from the applications received.
