2019 GCE O/L in Qatar, Oman, Italy to facilitate Lankan expatriates
View(s):The Examinations Department will conduct the GCE O/L exam this year at 3 overseas centres- Qatar, Oman and Italy- to facilitate
Sri Lankan expatriates to sit the examination.
Commissioner General of Examinations Sanath Pujitha said this follows requests from Sri Lankan expatriates in those countries.
He said discussions were held with the Foreign Ministry to seek the assistance of the overseas missions to conduct the examinations.
He said the question papers will be sent as secret documents and the staff will conduct the examination, with teachers in the respective countries supervising the exam.
Mr Pujitha said there were requests from other countries, but it would depend on the time-zone, so that, it could be held simultaneously in Sri Lanka.
Previously, the Department held the examination in India for Sri Lankan refugees.
