“Tharu Mithuru Soorya Mangalyaya” for all astronomy lovers
View(s):“Tharu Mithuru Soorya Mangalyaya” was an inaugural novelty event with an astronomical theme, collaboratively organised by the Nalanda College Alumni Astronomical Society (NCAAS), Nalanda College Astronomical Society (NCAS) and Astro Minds, for all astronomy lovers. It was held in April at Ediriweera Sarachchandra College playground, Mulleriyawa.
All participants were excited to showcase their talents and competitive spirit. The day’s festivities included a range of traditional new year games which were held according to the astronomy theme, giving the event a more novelty value.
Some of the highlights of the day were Catching Dragons eggs (Catching eggs), Blasting Supernovas (Blowing Balloons), Placing the eye on Medusa (placing the eye on the elephant) and Breaking the asteroids (breaking the pots), events named blending with the astronomy theme. “Tharu Kumara & Tharu Kumariya ”pageant was also conducted as a part of the event to a large enthusiastic gathering.
NCAAS, NCAS and Astro Minds will continue their goodwill in the future as well in organizing such events to educate children about Astronomy, with a greater vision.
