When Ambitions Meet Inspiration…
Large enough to offer an experience like no other and yet personal enough to adapt to suit the ambitions and interests of every student, ANC Education remains the first choice for local students seeking a global education experience. Lahari Balagalle was ranked #45 in the island in the commerce stream when she gained 3 “A” grades at the G.C.E. A Levels held in 2017. She comfortably won a place to study Management at one of the top public universities in the country but declined the offer, only to be enrolled on U.S. business degree programme offered at ANC.
A product of Visaka Vidyalaya, Lahari had already completed AAT and CIMA Operational level subject examinations before she sat her A-levels in 2017. She is currently preparing for the CIMA final year Case Study examination. “Even though AAT and CIMA qualifications have given me a grounding in accounting and finance, I was eager to pursue a recognized degree in marketing. It’s thanks to ANC, I’m able to complete a U.S. degree in marketing right here in Sri Lanka,” says Lahiri.

As far as Lahari’s career aspirations are concerned, she believes that her education at ANC offers a path to a promising future: “It’s very clear that Northwood education at ANC will lead us on to graduate school or directly into the workforce. After graduation I hope to go overseas and undertake graduate studies; it will enable me to launch a more rewarding career in marketing.” An animal lover since childhood, Lahari also wants to start an animal charity one day.
When asked why she declined the offer from a state university of high repute but joined ANC, Lahari said that she was initially attracted to the welcoming environment at ANC but decided to join ANC, for it’s an exclusive opportunity to complete a U.S. degree in Sri Lanka without travelling overseas for high quality education: “There’s a closeness here at ANC that I would not have found at a large state university. I loved that tight-knit atmosphere. Above all, Northwood is one of the top business schools in America.
