Horizon Campus offers the industry renowned BIT programme from the University of Moratuwa

Horizon Campus who had signed an MOU with the University of Moratuwa, now offers the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) program of University of Moratuwa which is an approved programme by the University Grants commission (UGC).
Comprising of six semesters, and open to G.C.E.(A.L.) qualified students from any stream, the BIT degree is designed to train students with a breadth of knowledge across a range of IT disciplines, and a depth of understanding in a specialization, allowing them to lead and become sought after professionals in the IT industry. The blended subject areas of the program include System Security, Visual Application Programming, Web Design, Mobile Application Development, Human Computer Interaction, Artificial Intelligence, IT Project Management and Data Mining, among other. Students will also gain the critical thinking and management skills needed to work with new technologies.
During the program period, Horizon Campus will conduct classes in accordance with the quality standards defined by the University of Moratuwa with a highly qualified senior academic panel utilized by excellent infrastructure and facilities to support quality learning. Continuous assessments and evaluations to map the progress of the student along with various assessment techniques such as Assignments, Quizzes, Discussion Forums and Practical Examinations, will be a part of this Degree Programme.
On successful completion, students will be able to, analyze well defined problems, and design, implement and evaluate solutions that demonstrate an understanding of the systems context in which software is developed and operated including economic, social, historical, sustainability and ethical aspects. They will have the ability to demonstrate an operational understanding of the foundations of computer science including programming, algorithms, architectures and data structures. They will be able to communicate complex concepts effectively with diverse audiences using a range of modalities and work effectively within team environment.
The Degree allows multiple exit points that includes the Diploma level, Higher Diploma level and Degree level and prepare students for a variety of career paths, such as Administration, Database Administration, Web Development,Security Analysis,Software Developer, Software Architect, Software Designer, Network and Systems, Network Engineer and Business Analyst.

Furthermore, those who complete this BIT programme will also have the benefit of being considered as a graduate of the University of Moratuwa, there by opening avenues for postgraduate studies. Horizon currently has over 100 students enrolled for the BIT degree.
