Semi-finalists found in U-21 Women’s Hockey
Kandy District Hockey Association, Colombo Hockey Association, Sri Lanka Schools ‘Gold’ and Wennappuwa Hockey Association made their way to the semi finals of the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation’s Under 21 Junior Women’s Hockey National Championship 2019 continued for the second day at the Astro Turf, Torrington Square yesterday.
Kandy HA meets Schools ‘Gold’ in the first semi final and Colombo HA meets Wennappuwa HA in the second semi final to be played today at the same venue.
M. Jayasinghe of Colombo HA was the most outstanding player of the tournament so far scoring 11 goals in three matches. The highest number of goals were scored by Colombo HA (17) against Gampaha DHA.
A total number of 20 preliminary round matches were worked off in two days of this three day event. Matale, the leading name in Sri Lanka for hockey was the notable absentee at this inaugural event.
