The first ever Accounting & Finance Industry Forum (AccFIN2) organised by the Department of Business Finance, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya (UoP), in collaboration with the National Economic Council of Sri Lanka (NECSL), Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), Sri Lanka Finance Association and the Association of Kandy Chartered Accountants was held on June 20 at the UoP. The theme of the conference was “Sri Lankan Economy and Financial Markets: Issues and Challenges”.
This Forum, to become an annual event, aims to develop a link between Academia and whichi is Industry, to discuss important issues in the Economy/Business, with the participation of Academia and Industry experts.

UoP Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Upul B. Dissanayake, was the Chief Guest, while UoP Deputy VC Professor S.H.P.P. Karunaratne and the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Dr. M. Alfred were Special Guests. Panelists for the Forum were NECSL Secretary General cum Chief Economist Professor Lalith P. Samarakoon, NECSL Deputy Secretary General- Financial Affairs, Senior Professor D.B.P. Hareendra Dissabandara, NECSL Deputy Secretary General- Economic Affairs, C.J.P. Siriwardana, CSE Chief Executive Officer Rajeeva Bandaranaike and Bartleet Religare Securities (Pvt) Ltd Executive Director Angelo Ranasinghe, while Senior Lecturer- Department of Economics & Statistics, Faculty of Arts, Dr. Suresh J.S. de Mel was the Moderator.
