The 9th Honda Trophy, MCA ‘G’ Division 25-Over League Tournament 2019, sponsored by Stafford Motors got off to a slippery start last weekend. Of the 18 half-day matches down for play, 4 were completely washed off, while a majority of the others were played with curtailed overs.
The weekend’s batting honours went to MAS Silueta’s Ishan Nilaksha- 74 vs Alaris Lanka (Alaris), while the bowling honours was bagged by Alaris’s Sajan Fernando- 5/35 vs MAS Silueta.
The four matches that got rained off without a ball being bowled were — GSK vs Coats, Coca Cola vs Expolanka, Access Group vs Nor Lanka and Intrepid vs Abans. The tournament will continue this weekend with a card of 16 half-day matches.
