The YSL Museum is located at 5 avenue Marceau, where Saint Laurent himself conceived, designed and produced his collections/clothing. Beautiful costumes from much of his long career were displayed and exhibited through videos and film. Students were able to witness incredible garments which famous fashion icons used to wear. Students had a fascinating insight into his approach to design. Not only did they get to see magnificent designs one after another, they were also able to view YSL jewelry, accessories & his private studio. It was outstanding!
The designer’s spirit was alive in the mansion’s walls, which encompass the warm, elegant ambiance. This was something that cannot be felt and experienced digitally through technology. The museum’s personal vibe enabled our students to examine the designer’s creative process of by immersing themselves in Saint Laurent’s universe. Seeing Yves Saint Laurent studio was magical and a must see for all fashion designers and students.
