Provincial Sports Meets from July 8
View(s):Over 8,000 schoolboys and schoolgirls will be vying for honours when the Provincial Sports Meets, conducted by the Provincial Educational Officers, get underway next week.
The sports meets will be worked off in the Uva, North Central, Eastern and North Western Provinces with the participation of over 500 schools. The championship will showcase a total of over 70 different events with the Uva Provincial Sports Meet as the first event to be held from July 8 to 11 at the Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla.Meanwhile, the North Central Province Sports Meet will be held from July 11 to 14 at the Anuradhapura Public Stadium. In addition, the third Provincial Sports Meet will be held in the North Western Province from July 17 to 20 at the Sir Albert F. Peiris Stadium in Wennappuwa.
