Some excerpts from the interview with Shinal follow:
A: Following the completion of my OLs and ALs at Multinational School in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the process of deciding which college to attend in order to pursue my higher education, my choices came down to a few Sri Lankan institutions that offered business degree programs in collaboration with reputed international universities. Considering the educational and extracurricular gains I was looking for and the path I had in mind to further my studies, ANC turned out to be the perfect fit, as it not only presented a great and ideal opportunity to complete an American degree which was an internal degree from Northwood University, in the likes of Sri Lanka, but it also sported a positive environment that encouraged students to actively engage in various activities and student clubs that contributed to developing soft skills that would accompany students throughout their time at college. Additionally, ANC occupies a unique position in the field of transnational education as the #1 provider of U.S. education in Sri Lanka.
Q: How does ANC facilitate your career search and development?

This programme thereby gave me the opportunity to gain first hand learning and work experience with Unilever Sri LankaLanka under the Marketing department (home-care category), where I incorporated my theoretical knowledge with the practical know-hows of the job.
Having undertaken a triple major in Management, Marketing, and International ;Business; areas that are closely related and in high demand, I have been able to gain a sound understanding of the business processes that a business graduate will encounter in the corporate world and develop employability skills – business acumen through the internship, problem solving and analytical skills, IT and communication skills, and many more. Also, the short-term study abroad programmes and lessons offered at ANC in International Business and related areas dequipped us with the knowledge and skills required for working in a global environment.
As mentioned earlier, given that there are several student clubs and organisations, we have exciting opportunities to pursue our interests and develop personal skills such as leadership and negotiation skills, organisation skills, and confidence, which has also played a vital role in adapting to the work environment
