Lankan lasses eye top finish
A 12-member strong Women’s Volleyball team leaves Sri Lanka this week, to compete for a top finish at the 3rd Asian Women’s Under (U)-23 Volleyball Championship 2019, to be worked off from July 13-21, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
At the previous Asian championship, Sri Lanka secured 12th place, while Japan were the overall champs. In this year’s tourney, Sri Lanka is in Pool ‘D’ and will be up against Kazakhstan, Hong Kong and Macau in the Preliminary Round matches.
The U-23 National Volleyball team is sponsored by Dialog Axiata, Sri Lanka’s most prolific sponsor of sports.
