CA Sri Lanka recently organized a Gurunena seminar for the benefit of over 100 GCE Advanced Level Accounting subject teachers in the Piliyandala and Kalutara Educational Zones, where the importance of ‘Accounting Standards for GCE A/L Accounting Syllabus’ was highlighted.
The lecture was conducted by Chartered Accountant and Lecturer of the University of Moratuwa Mr. Isuru Manawadu. Additional Director of Education of the Western Provincial Department of Education Mr. Vimal Gunaratne, Director Commerce of the Piliyandala Educational Zone Ms. Ratnalatha Vithanage and CA Sri Lanka’s Council Member Mr. Laknath Peiris were present at the event.

Through the ‘Gurunena’ seminar series, teachers are not only given the necessary subject knowledge on the Accounting syllabus, but the seminars have become an important platform to encourage teachers to teach accounting to students more effectively.
