The resurrection of the Katuwapitiya Church

View(s):

The Katuwapitiya St. Sebastian’s Church – where the biggest massacre took place in the Easter Sunday carnage – has been fully repaired and renovated by the Navy and will be formally reopened today with a special Sunday Service. This comes exactly three months after the massacre. Navy personnel, who played a major role in the renovation and repair, are seen giving the final touches to the church and a memorial monument giving the names of the children, women and men who were killed during the Easter Sunday holy mass. The attack was carried out by a suicide bomber of an IS-linked terror group. Pix by Amila Gamage
