Award Ceremony at British Council Orion City
View(s):Friday July 12, 2019 was a very exciting evening for all the Young Learners of the British Council Library at Orion City. Special invitees and parents were gathered to celebrate the achievements of the youngsters in an Awards Ceremony.
This was a compilation of Little Coders Certifications – upon successful completion of a computer coding class voluntarily conducted by Mr. Naveen Gunasinghe (Head of Department, SAKS) for kids. They were able to partner with companies such as SAKS Engineering (knowledge partner), Third Space Global (venue partner) and TIQRI.
The Annual Summer Reading Challenge partnered with The Reading Agency UK, themed ‘Animal Agents,’ where Young Learners finish six books throughout the holiday and win exciting prizes at the end of submitting each book. British Council conducts the Reading Challenge annually to cultivate the habit of reading in children. The winners of the Annual Art competition were also presented with awards for materializing their vivid imagination on paper with attractive use of colours. It was an evening to recognise the youngsters who make the British Council’s existence worthwhile.
