Air Marshal Sumangala Dias felicitated by his alma mater

Nalanda College Colombo paid tribute to the newly appointed, 17th Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, at a special assembly held at the College premises this week.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nalanda College Principal Thilak Waththuhewa said that Nalanda College has a history of producing noble sons who serve the country in the highest ranks of office and that Air Marshal Sumangala Dias, who had excelled in sports, studies and extracurricular activities, whilst at school and, who has reached the highest position in the SLAF, is a source of pride and inspiration to his alma mater.
Air Marshal Dias attributed his achievements to the solid foundation laid at school, which paved the path for him to be appointed as the 3rd successive SLAF Commander from Nalanda College.
