SL Economic Summit to discuss “Global Dynamics in the Next Decade”
View(s):The premier economic forum, the Sri Lanka Economic Summit (SLES) 2019 to be held next month will discuss the global economy in the morning session of the first day. In a session focused on the “Global Dynamics in the Next Decade”, the current discourse in the global environment will be discussed.
Organisers the Chamber of Commerce said in a media notice that these issues mostly centre on trade wars, Brexit, and the next policy step by the US Federal Reserve, from amongst others. In a broader context, global financial market dynamics, a rapidly transforming technology landscape, dynamics in labour, and the shift of power in manufacturing and service industries are also weighing in. in this dynamic global economy.
The presenters at this plenary will include Shri Suresh Prabhu, the former Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Civil Aviation of the Government of India; Nirukth Sapru, CEO Vietnam and ASA Cluster Markets, Standard Chartered Bank; and Mangala Yapa, Chairman of the Board of Investment, Sri Lanka.
Panelists at the event will feature Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, Chairman, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce; Dhammika Perera, Co-Chairman (Non-Executive) Hayleys PLC; and Vish Govindasamy, Group Managing Director, Sunshine Holdings PLC. Dr. Ganeshan Wignaraja, Executive Director, Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute of International Relations and Strategic Studies in Sri Lanka will moderate the session.
