IIHS uplifts the professional status of nurses in Sri Lanka and the region by providing quality academic delivery through the most advanced and up to date methods. I was provided the opportunity to complete many research projects which provided me the opportunity to present at International Council of Nurses Conference (2017) in Spain and the 13th International Congress on Nursing Informatics in Geneva. I never believed that I would be presented with such academic openings and the guidance I have received from the staff at IIHS has been humbling. Upon completing my 3 year Advanced Diploma in General Nursing programme at IIHS I was selected as the Most Outstanding Student of IIHS in 2017. Due to my achievements at IIHS, I received the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship (50% Scholarship) which provide an immense financial relief for me when I completed my 1 year Bachelors in Nursing Degree at Deakin University Australia. I currently work as a Regsitered Nurse and I am completing my Honours year at Deakin Universty. Ms. Ayodhya Karunaratne Physiotherapist, United Kingdom Advanced Diploma in Physyiotherapy (3 years – IIHS) + Advancing Physiotherapy Practice (1 year – Coventry University, UK School: Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya “As an alumni of IIHS, I graduated from Coventry University with a Masters in Physiotherapy. The Advanced Diploma in Physiotherapy offered by IIHS guided me into the direction of research where I learnt the fine art of linking theory to current evidence based practice. To date, I have presented at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Conference (United Kingdom), World Confederation for Physical Therapy Conference (South Africa 2017 and Singapore 2015) and the Annual Global Health Conference (Singapore). Additionally, my research was selected to be presented in 2015 at the research conference by Sri Lanka Medical Association. My research subsequently was highlighted and published in numerous IIHS journals and I hope my work has inspired fellow students. I chose the Coventry University pathway following the IIHS Advanced Diploma in Physiotherapy programme as the pathway offered me a Masters in Physiotherapy directly.
