Malaysia has become one of the most preferred education destinations for students from Sri Lanka because of its cost-effective, high quality tertiary education, the close proximity to Sri Lanka and the possibility to transfer to an Australian, New Zealand or a Canadian university after part studying in Malaysia. The latter is an added advantage as these countries offer opportunities to gain post study work experience and even to live and work permanently. Australia is the preferred choice of many students who opt for the part study option in Malaysia as reputed Australian Universities like Monash , Swinburne and Curtin have even off shore campuses in Malaysia.

Every year Edlocate organizes one on one interview sessions with Malaysian University representatives in order to enable students and parents to get first hand information on higher studies in Malaysia. Whilst these university representatives could provide up to date information on course upgrades, best study paths, scholarships availability, internship opportunities, transfer facilities to overseas universities, the Edlocate counselors in attendance will provide information on visa formalities to make practical decisions.
This session will be held in OZO Hotel in Colombo on the 22nd August from 3-6 PM. Students who have received the GCE London A/L results and desirous of enrolling in selected courses in September/October 2019 and primarily looking to enroll in February 2020 intakes should not miss this opportunity. During the session we facilitate students to lodge applications for upcoming intakes. Students should bring educational certificates, to be assessed by the university representatives and lodge applications to get confirmed placements.
Students who have just finished Sri Lanka A/L examination could apply with predicted results with a view to enroll in February 2020.
The Malaysian universities offer courses in all disciplines including popular courses such as Medicine (Monash & International Medical University (IMU) offer best programmes in Medicine. The Bachelor of Medical Science & Doctor of Medicine programme at Monash is recognized by MMC, AMC and SLMC. In addition the students at Monash Malaysia are allowed to undertake last 3 months of clinical practices in Australia. Students at IMU can either complete the full 5 years in Malaysia or transfer to an accredited university in Australia / UK / Ireland or Canada after 2.5 years of studies in Malaysia), Engineering, Commerce, Business, IT and Hospitality. All the universities we represent in Malaysia offers industry exposure with world class multinational companies to ensure that their graduates are industry- ready when they graduate.
Edlocate had assisted many students to obtain scholarships from Malaysian universities. Scholarships are offered purely on merit to high achieving international students with excellent A/L results. Monash University offers RM 5000 per semester as scholarships except for MBBS. Pharmacy Excellence Scholarship is being offered between 25%-50% of tuition fee for Bachelor of Pharmacy. There are MBBS Bursaries of up to RM 10,000per year. In addition there is Graduate Research Merit Scholarship for PG students too. INTI offers a maximum up to 30% of tuition fee scholarship. Manipal International University offers a maximum of 50% of tuition fee as scholarship for students joining Oct 2019 intakes and free accommodation for the 1st semester. Swinburne University offers up to RM 4500 price reduction from 1st year tuition fees. Curtin University offers up to 40% for bachelors and up to RM 5000 for masters based on the GPA of UG degree. Students who apply for spot admissions to Taylors University are eligible for a 1st year scholarships.
