The Student Graduate Experience at MSI
Lashani, is a young Graduate that decided to pursue her Degree in Biomedical Science offered by The Management and Science University. We interviewed Lashani and asked her about her amazing learning journey and what made her choose The Management and Science Institute, where she has just graduated from.
In order to inspire other students to study at MSI, Lashani accepted to share her story and tell us more about how she became a student of MSI.
Q: Why did you choose MSU for your higher studies?After ALs when I felt ready to take the next step, I researched my options. Although many people suggested that I go abroad, I found that MSU provided the same qualification here at home. I was interested in Biomedical studies from my school days and MSU was well equipped with labs and also gave students internships at leading organizations.
In addition MSU collaborates with many universities World-wide including those in the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany and Japan. With a qualification from one of Asia’s Top Ranked universities, I was convinced, I will have abundant opportunities in today’s globally competitive market.
In 2019 MSU was Placed 271st in the QS Asia Ranking, the inaugural entry ranks Management and Science University (MSU) in the top 2% among Asia’s best universities. Q: A good Education comes with a high Price – what are your thoughts on this?MSU being a top Ranked University, the price my parents paid for my education at MSU was very affordable. It is important to spend for your higher education but it is also important to spend that amount wisely. There are MANY university programmes offered in Sri Lanka, but I believe parents and students must take into consideration the rankings, recognition, job employability of those programmes before making a decision.
I am grateful that I choose MSU and would always recommend it to others.
Like in my previous answer, you should choose the right university for your higher studies. I know of peers who have left school for faster options, some for cheaper programmes and still unemployed or haven’t got the dream job that they opted for.
Q: How was life as a student of MSU?
The lecturers at MSU had flexible schedules and were always ready to support us with advice, explanations, examples, etc. They also went the extra mile guiding us on projecting a career path that fits with our aspirations. The closeness with the faculty allowed for an easier and more in-depth communication.
I got selected to work as a Health coordinator in a leading International organisation which I think will be a turning point in my professional life. Choose a carrier you love so that you feel you are not working. I am grateful to MSU for helping me choose the programme that matched my career aspirations.
