The Wadiya Restaurant at Wellawatte last week celebrated 45 years in business. Founded by owner Olwyn Weerasekera, it was one of Colombo’s oldest beach restaurants, visited by British Royalty, airline staff, visiting international cricketers, foreign business executives and locals of varied walks of life. It was a great tourist attraction of yesteryear and continues todate.
