MoE to improve Evaluation & Assessment Methodologies of Exams
View(s):The Ministry of Education (MoE) has improved the Evaluation & Assessment Methodologies by conducting examinations efficiently.
According to MoE’s 2018 Annual Report, they have taken steps to develop the Data Systems and Computer facilities in all sections to expedite the process of conducting examinations and evaluating by the Department of Examinations (DoE).
Special measures were taken to strengthen the DoE’s Computer network to improve the Security Methodologies and Activities to modify facilities required to conduct examinations and to issue certificates online.
They have also made arrangements to maintain databases of examination and evaluating staff.
They have also upgraded the efficiency of conducting national level examinations with OCR/ICR machines to evaluate answer scripts more efficiently.
The MoE will also acquire modern printing machines and improve facilities available at the printing and storing unitss. Arrangements are being made to establish an Item Bank to enhance the quality of exam question papers.
The MoE is training officers for the implementation of the new School Based Assessment (SBA) Programme. The first phase of 26 SBA tools for the first terms have been prepared.
