Study in NZ – Visit Edlocate’s “NZ Education Fair” on August 30 in Colombo & meet University reps too
View(s):New Zealand is a beautiful country. Though many Sri Lankan students are not aware of the high standard, diverse education system in NZ, the country is full of international students from many countries in the Asia and Pacific.
Students can enrol to study in 4 NZ universities in this peaceful and politically very stable country namely the University of Auckland – New Zealand’s # 1 ranked university and world- ranked within the top 100 universities in the world, the University of Otago in Dunedin, Victoria University of Wellington and the Waikato University.
Apart from the well recognised universities, the Institutes of Technologies & Polytechnics (ITPs) of NZ offer a large range of affordable but well recognised Diploma, Bachelor and Post graduate courses. The level of tuition fee in the ITPs is much lower than those of the universities but their degrees are well recognised. We represent a number of ITPs namely Unitec, NMIT – Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and SIT – Southern Institute of Technology. Edlocate also represents Aspire 2 International which is a category 1 private training establishment (PTE).
International students are permitted to do part time work, while they are studying to earn their living expenses and also get valuable NZ work place experience.
Like in Australia, NZ too offer international students opportunities to obtain post graduate work experience. This well regulated and legitimate scheme is more generous than in Australia (The duration is 1-3 years) and in addition you only need to have studies for one year in NZ (as against the need to study for 2 years in Australia) to qualify for a post study work visa.

By meeting the visiting university and polytechnic representatives of your choice, you can get information regarding the strengths of the institutions with regard to your chosen field of study, institution’s academic excellence, the availability of scholarships, openings available to get internships and related work experience through industry links they have especially the universities – on completion of courses.
The counselors of Edlocate will be in hand to give you information on the process from lodging applications to secure placements through to enrolment and, the NZ student visa process and our assistance through a registered NZ migration agent to assist student dependants to apply for visa. They will also assist students to lodge their applications during this event to the participating universities with no application fee levied. Those interested to apply, should bring your passport, IELTS/PTE results (If you have), O/L + A/L results (for UG applicants), professional qualification or bachelor’s certificate (for PG applicants). They will also provide information on in-house classes to sit IELTS & PTE tests.
